Even black superheroes can't catch a cab

In honor of Luke Cage: Noir starting tomorrow, I thought it'd be fun to look at anecdote from an old Powerman comic. This vignette from Luke Cage, Powerman #40 reminds us that despite having "steel hard" skin, Luke did not become a black person able to hail a taxi when he was dipped in that vat of chemicals.

Luke Cage is a busy man. Always on the go.



"No problem. I'll just catch the next cab."



Twenty minutes later...



Luke takes matters into his own hands. He is one of the most tenacious superheroes. Keep in mind, this is a guy who faked his own death, escaped from prison, and rebuilt his life from the ground up without so much as a social security number let alone a family fortune or a saucy butler. Eat that Bruce Wayne.



TAKE HOME LESSON:
Luke Cage is not a hero to be trifled with.

Since Luke Cage: Noir is set in the '20s, I hope it'll fill the hole in my life that's existed since I finished Incognegro.
